Employee Spotlight: Patrick Rowe

Today’s spotlight features Patrick Rowe, who leads the EDU team here at Guidebook. Patrick is based in our Raleigh, NC office!
How long have you worked at Guidebook? 
5 ½ years
What is your favorite Guidebook memory?
For our holiday party in December 2016, Guidebook rented out my favorite restaurant. The restaurant had just announced that they would be closing at the end of the year. I had done my final interview for Guidebook in that restaurant. My not-yet-wife and I had our second date there. I visited that space every day for years. Sitting there one last time with my brand new wife and some of my closest friends, I realized how much Guidebook really cares about people and locations.
What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
In high school, I was named the Number One Improvisational Actor in the state of Virginia.
You’re known around the office for your sense of style. What are some of your favorite places to shop?
I love the idea of a curated or capsule wardrobe and I would rather have just a few pieces of high-quality clothing. Essentially - a uniform. I’ve been buying my pants from Bonobos since their first website opened 12 years ago. I get my suits from SuitSupply (AWESOME product, terrible name) and my jeans are Levi 501s. Most of my shirts are oxfords from Brooks Brothers Red Fleece. Everything else comes from L.L Bean. I’ve been a New Balance 574 wearer since middle school but made a significant switch to the Tretorn Nylite (thanks Sid Mashburn) in 2019 and I’m really loving it.
Finally, you can only have three mobile apps on your phone (besides Guidebook, of course). What three apps would you choose and why?
