How long have you worked at Guidebook?
Almost a year! What does your role as Email Marketing Manager entail?
If you’ve ever received any marketing emails from Guidebook, I’ve probably had a role in that. I make sure that our emails contain the most relevant content for our users, delivered at the right time, and also make sure they look nice. We’re currently working on some very exciting informational emails to help our Builders learn how to build apps quicker. We want to make sure everyone has an exceptional experience using our product. What is something people might be surprised to learn about you?
Prior to working in email marketing, I was a chef for 5 years. Worked in restaurants, catering, food trucks, private events, you name it. Never a dull day working in the food industry and it was a fun experience especially working with the people. Would I go back? Doesn’t pay enough for the amount of daily stress you take in. The other downside is now everyone expects you to make a Michelin star meal at potlucks. What is your top tip for working from home?
Keep in constant contact with your team with facetime or late morning check-ins. It’s easy to lose track of the time of day when you’re just sitting at home. The check-ins will also make sure that you have everything you need to work through the afternoon. What is a hobby you’re working on in 2020?
I’ve been trying to produce a new original song every month in my spare time. I’ve been playing around with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) called Fruity Loops and it’s been very interesting. I’m not good yet but as a famous quote goes… “Sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something.”Finally, you can only have three mobile apps on your phone (besides Guidebook, of course). What three apps would you choose and why?
- Spotify - FOR SURE, I walk around and take a lot of public transportation. And I like to listen to my own music while working out.
- Lyft, because how else am I going to get home after a night out with friends and coworkers.
- This is tough, between Instagram and Reddit. Reddit... it should be because of the news and articles on there but some of the comments on there are just hilarious. Brightens my day. Instagram because my friends and people I follow post some funny and interesting content.
