From Event Apps to Event Management: How Guidebook Is Revolutionizing Registration Software
Yes – it really is finally happening! We have listened to our customers' repeated demands to build integrated event registration capabilities, and we are proud that you all trust us to do so. In early 2025, Guidebook will be ready to support your events from start to finish.
An event technology ecosystem: Introducing 3 new event management features for 2025
Guidebook will be extending our offering with three new capabilities, the first of which is already live. By allowing organizers to combine them all, or pick and choose what they need, we’ll be helping thousands of planners to connect disparate systems and make their lives easier. These new capabilities are: Event Marketing Websites, Free Event Registration, and Paid Ticketing. And all of them, naturally, compliment our Event Experience App perfectly.Event Marketing Websites
- Free to any event organizer, whether a Guidebook customer or not.
- Empowers organizers to promote their events (their big ideas, their dreams), sharing them with the world and creating excitement.
- Simple to build using our familiar drag & drop layout.
Free Event Registration:
- Embed a registration form into your Guidebook Event Marketing Website or on your own website to capture sign ups, free of charge.
- Registrants will be automatically imported to the Guidebook CMS, Builder, for seamless integration with your Guidebook Event Experience App, should you wish to use it.
Paid Ticketing:
- An extension of the above, allowing organizers to generate revenue from their events and sell different types of tickets.
Our vision for event registration technology
During my ten years at Guidebook, the most consistent request from customers and prospective customers has been for us to have our own registration solution. The reason we have held off so long is that maintaining and improving the industry’s leading event experience app is a huge and important task. We believe that events are experiences, and the technology which can have the biggest impact on the attendee experience is mobile. However, we believe that we can build something which enhances our reputation for design and user experience–and with our continued business growth, now is the right time to take this next step. There are countless event registration softwares in the market today, and if we were going to add to that, it was important to work directly with our customers and industry experts to build a solution ‘by the industry, for the industry’. That’s why we set up our Product Advisory Board with over 125 members: to ensure we deliver a product which will first and foremost make event organizers’ lives easier. This type of customer collaboration in our product development is what we hope to champion as the new normal in the event industry. It feels to me that event technology pricing models have defaulted to ‘how can I extract money from event organizers?’, rather than ‘how can I help event organizers?’. We intend to change that, and are excited for further customer-led developments to come in 2025 too: Badges and Lead Retrieval, you’re officially on notice. Why now? In-person events have never been more important
We live in a more fragmented world – driven by the rise of remote work, AI advancement, and growing societal and political polarization. Call me a dreamer, but I truly believe that events can positively change the world by breaking down silos, supporting human connection, and opening people up to new possibilities and relationships. 82% of attendees say that they prefer in-person events over virtual or hybrid.I expect that number to continue to trend upwards. Sadly though, this doesn’t mean that event organizers are getting the levels of support they need to successfully execute this critically important channel. We hear countless stories of planners being asked to do more with less as budgets have been squeezed by inflation, and they are struggling to generate a commensurate amount of extra revenue from sponsors or attendees. With Guidebook’s product expansion, we will connect systems & processes so our customers can reduce the number of event software contracts and benefit from greater efficiencies. We will deliver more value by helping our customers in additional ways, and they will make meaningful savings because of it. Guidebook has proudly supported event organizers since 2011, and this is a huge step forward in our own development – giving back to the industry that made us who we are today. We’re extremely excited to help event organizers craft magical experiences from start to finish. Keep an eye on this space as we head into 2025!Get ready for the future of event registration software with Guidebook
Our team of developers is hard at work making this vision a reality, and unbelievably they are still able to churn out new feature releases like our new engagement tool, Leaderboard. In the meantime myself, my co-leader Pete Banks (President, Technology), our Senior Product Manager Gulnaar Kaur, and our Events & Community Manager Nathan Meyer all continue to liaise with the Product Advisory Board to ensure we’re staying on the right track. Further details on exact dates will be announced soon. If you would like to be one of our beta customers to get the opportunity to access heavily discounted costs and play a role in shaping the development of the project, please reach out to your sales contact at Guidebook or email sales@guidebook.com.Plan with Confidence, Not stress
