Introducing Guidebook's Simplified Login: Faster Access, Fewer Headaches

The moment an attendee accesses your event app, you only have a few seconds to convince them that it’s worth sticking around.

If they’re hunting for how to log in - or worse, accidentally tap “sign up” when they already have an account - they can quickly lose enthusiasm about using the app.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ve completely overhauled Guidebook’s sign-up and login experience, based on the data and insights from millions of log-ins.

With more intuitive screens, smarter error messaging, and a brand-new magic-link option, your attendees get into the app faster (and you get fewer support headaches).

Here’s an overview of what’s new and what it means for the attendee experience.

1. A Smoother Login and Sign Up Experience for Attendees

We’ve redesigned the main screen to eliminate confusion by putting the two core actions - Login and Sign Up - front-and-center.

Users can easily toggle between both actions and proceed with the one that is relevant for them.

Our data and customer feedback showed that this was an area where some app users dropped off or got confused. So we are excited to launch this improvement to help customers with app adoption and engagement.

2. One-Click Login with Magic Links

Forgotten passwords are often the top culprit behind any app login friction. To sidestep this headache, we’ve added passwordless authentication via magic links.

Here’s what that looks like:

  • Attendees select “Email me a login link”
  • They check their email and tap the link.
  • The app opens and they’re automatically logged in.

With this modern and secure approach, attendees get instant access to the app without having to rely on traditional “Forgot your password?” workflows (though it’s still there for them to use if they choose).

3. Smarter, In-Context Error Messaging

We know how frustrating it can be when vague error messages pop-up and the action required is unclear.

That’s why we’ve updated our error messages to be:

  • Crystal clear: No technical jargon, just clear and simple language.
  • Actionable:Each message provides sufficient detail so that users know what to correct.
  • Exactly where users need them:Errors appear under the relevant field so attendees don’t have to guess where the problem lies.

All of these updates are now live and available to you and your app users - no special setup required. With these enhancements, you can expect:

  • Fewer support requests for forgotten passwords to your team.
  • Reduced friction at login and signup.
  • Streamlined access thanks to magic links.
  • Higher app adoption and engagement supported by a great first impression

We can’t wait to hear how this smoother, smarter user flow transforms your events. Don’t hesitate to share your feedback with your account manager or to reach out to our Customer Success team anytime!
